April 17: Service of Affirmation

Credo means “what I set my heart to.” Please join us on Sunday morning, April 17, at 10:30 as members of the Coming of Age class share their credo statements with the congregation at their Service of Affirmation. The Service of Affirmation culminates the year our grade 8 and 9 youth spent examining their lives and beliefs as Unitarian Universalists. Participants are Delphine Aibel, Blake Dixon-Patrick, Adam Hartman, Domnica Horst-Loy, Abbie Kelemen, Jenna Schaefer, Emma Singh, and Darlene Spina-VanAntwerp. Children in pre-K to grade 3 join us for the beginning of the service then depart for Sunday School; children in grades 4 to 7 stay for the entire service.

Coffee and refreshments are served in the Sanctuary immediately following the service. A reception for Coming of Age students, families, teachers and mentors only is held in the Assembly Room. We thank this year’s teachers Alyson Gaylord-Loy, Lisa Horton, Maria Nieves, Jay Pearly, and David Smilon and the mentors for their time and commitment to our youth.

The third and final New UU class is held at noon in the Minister’s Office. Childcare for infants and toddlers is provided until 1:30.
