March 13: ‘Religious Freedom for All?’

‘Religious Freedom for All?’
Sunday, March 13, 10:30 a.m., Sanctuary
Daylight Saving Time begins
A recent survey by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that a large majority of Americans, 82 percent, believe that religious freedom for Christians should be protected; however, that number drops to 72 percent for Jews, 67 percent for Mormons, and 61 percent for Muslims. Rev. Horst explores these troubling statistics in his sermon “Religious Freedom for All?” and challenges us all to be open and accepting of other faith traditions—even the ones whose beliefs we don’t understand or find objectionable. David Horst, Minister; Matt Anderson, Director of Music; and Susan Gempler, Worship Associate, lead the service. Children and teachers join us for the beginning of the service then depart for Sunday School. We launch the campaign for the April 30 Spring Fling all-congregation fundraiser today.
