March 6: ‘Escape from the Ordinary’

We introduce the ‘liberation’ theme for March. We continue our theme-based ministry in March and ask, What does it mean to be a people of “liberation.” Join us for our First Sunday multigenerational service, March 6, at 10:30 a.m. In his sermon, “Escape from the Ordinary,” Rev. David Horst explores how our fears and anxieties hold us back. How can we reclaim the things that really matter? How do we balance our daily routines with life-satisfying experiences? We introduce our new Hymn of the Month, When the Spirit Says, Do, an African American spiritual. David Horst, Minister; Charlie O’Reilly; Worship Associate; and Matt Anderson, Director of Music, lead the service. Children in pre-K through grade 5 participate in the service. The grade 6/7 Building Bridges and 8/9 Coming of Age classes meet as scheduled. Childcare for infants and toddlers provided until 1:30.

Everyone is invited to the luncheon at 11:45 to raise money for Weekend Snack Packs provided by the Center for Food Action. The late elementary students, parents, and teachers host the luncheon. Purchase a lunch or just enjoy Coffee Hour. Please bring nonperishable food donations for our first-Sunday-of-the-month collection for the Center for Food Action.

The Congregational Conversation begins at 12:15 in the Sanctuary. The Coming of Age mentor breakfast begins at 9:30. The Youth Group meets at 3 at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood.
