Center for Food Action
Central Unitarian Church supports the Center for Food Action (CFA), a nonprofit organization that provides food packages and homeless prevention services to our neighbors in need: the working poor, senior citizens and disabled individuals on fixed incomes, and the unemployed experiencing temporary financial hardship.
The first Sunday of each month, we collect and contribute nonperishable food items, as well as supermarket gift cards which are used in purchasing the most basic items (eggs, cheese, peanut butter, cereal, pasta, canned vegetables & fruits, spaghetti, sauce, tuna, tinned meats, soups, paper goods, eggs and dairy products) and keeping pantry shelves stocked.
The Center is also one of the seven charities supported by CUC’s annual Outreach Auction.
